The journey of launching the SME Management Company Retail Shop began with a prayer and a vision ignited by a spark of inspiration.

From 2019 to 2023 I struggled through some of the worst moments of my life. I spent those five years shedding a whole lotta tears 😭 There were many days I didn't think I was going to make it, but all praise to God because His grace and mercy saw me through.

I needed a distraction from all that I was going through. I prayed and asked God to give me "a hustle" something more than a hobby that would not only occupy my mind and time but would also provide me a little financial freedom. His answer was "make shirts". I didn't quite understand the instructions for this particular task and I had no idea the plans He had in store for me. In obedience I began to research how to make custom tees, and for Christmas 2023 I purchased a Cricut cutting machine and heat press. In support of my new venture my hubby turned one of our spare bedrooms into a shop. Yes, a real heat press shop 💪🏾 I went all in with creating my business. I started by looking at every video and tutorial I could find for beginners entering the Cricut craft world, next I got my shop licensed with the state as well as our city and county offices. Then I focused on learning how to use my new equipment and it became the perfect outlet for me to creatively express myself. I begin making made-to-order tees for family, friends and small group events.

At last I had something to pour my energy into and distract me from everything that was previously stressing me out. I felt like things were finally turning around for me. However, something was still missing I knew I needed more healing for my emotional and spiritual well-being. I began listening to Sarah Jakes Roberts and heard her announcement for the Woman Evolve 2024 conference which would be held later in the year. I contemplated attending but didn't want to go alone so I dismissed it as just a passing thought. God had other plans for me.

For the 4th of July holiday, my hubby and I attended the Essence Fest celebration in New Orleans, LA. It was their 30 year celebration but our first time attending. As we walked through the event venue we were passing the Essence stage just as Sarah Jakes Roberts was introduced to speak about her Woman Evolve conference. Coincidence? Of course not! She explained the theme of the conference - Surrender. I knew this was God speaking to me and instructing me to attend the conference. My hubby agreed to be my travel buddy so I had no more excuses. I purchased my ticket, secured our flight ticket and confirmed our hotel reservation.

About a week before the Woman Evolve 2024 conference I was preparing for my trip and gathering all the information I needed. While reading my email I found the W.E. Got A Word, Sept 2024 Week 1 newsletter and in it was the following passage:

"We are all born with a unique calling, mission, or urge towards something greater than ourselves"

That one sentence summarized exactly what I was trying to convey and sparked/ignited the fire for me to push forward with my Born With It Collection, and on September 25, 2024, my vision became reality!!

I stepped out on faith and introduced the Born With It Collection, designed to celebrate what makes you uniquely YOU 💜 It was scary but also exciting. I felt like I had finally connected my passion with my purpose and evolving into the person I was born to be.

Now here we are and our Born With It brand is officially one year old!! 🥳 I'm stepping into year 2 with more confidence, determination and faith because I've seen what God can do 🙏🏾 and more importantly I know what He will do if I keep walking in the path He prepared for me!! 💪🏾😎👍🏾

September 29, 2025 - The Born With It Collection ✨ is officially one year old.

I pray that my story touches all who need encouragement to have the strength and faith to chase their dreams. No, it won't happen overnight but it certainly won't happen if you don't try at all...just start. Write the book ✍🏽 , register for the class, start the business. You have the idea, now put it in motion. Believe in yourself and trust God 🙏🏽and most of all understand that we are BORN WITH everything we need to succeed.
